Dessert Factory is one of the local Cebuano restaurants that will always be nostalgic to me. By now, I already have a couple of favourites from them which I order 90% of the time when I get the chance. So this weekend, I thought I'd take my chances at their other dishes
Ordering Experience
Dessert Factory is a Grabfood exclusive restaurant. I ordered past peak hour at around 8:00 pm. The restaurant prepared the food in time, but the Grab driver had another delivery which extended the estimated arrival time by 10 minutes - which is no big deal at all. The food was still warm when it arrived.
The dishes below are single serving but the restaurant offers options for up to 10 people.
Philly Cheesesteak
Philly Cheesesteak - Php 250 |
I'm a huge fan of cheesesteaks - they're on my top tier of favourite food so I was so excited to try this one from Dessert Factory.
The sauce is amazing on this one and the meat was tender. It's not over the top and does not have too many things going on which in my opinion already gets plus points.
I like my cheesesteaks simple, but packing a lot of flavour. I do have to say that this does lack a little something more. I would have loved more meat and perhaps just a tiny more cheese. The bread isn't too bad, but it's not my favourite.
However, it is just the right serving for it's price. It's actually really affordable for a good cheesesteak sandwich.
Spaghetti Bolognese
Spaghetti Bolognese - Php 265 |
This smelled amazing!
I was not exactly craving for some tangy tomato kick that night which is why I was glad that the flavours in this dish did not come out too strong. I still pledge full loyalty to the sweet and rich Filipino style which is what I usually prefer, but I was surprised to have really enjoyed this one. I just did not like the bread that came with this dish. It was not garlic bread and I don't think it was toasted but it was also really very bland. Other than that, this was a great dish.
Mini Corn Dogs
These little ones may not look much, but they're amazing!
The hotdog fillings are very tasty and I really liked how the batter was not too thick. I surprisingly love these more than the other corndogs I have tried here in the city. They were also still pretty tasty even after reheating them the next day.
In conclusion...
I enjoyed this mini straying away from my usuals and getting to explore other dishes that the restaurant offers. I know there are already tons of places that have sprouted in the recent years, but I still think Dessert Factory holds a special spot for their good food at the right price.
In terms of tonight's order, I think the corn dogs will be a part of my regulars now.
