Glifesnaps Belo Sun Expert Reef Friendly Sunscreen

I am always excited to try out new sunscreen because I still cannot find any that beats or even matches up to my holy grail Biore Aqua Rich. When we went to Bantayan months ago, I we picked this up at a local Watsons on a buy 1 get 1 offer for only Php 424 but we weren't able to use it so it has been sitting in my cabinet for months now. I was still trying to finish up my Garnier one because I didn't want to open multiple bottles at once. Belo just came out with their dewy sunscreen so there's a high chance that this is on sale again.

Anyway, let's get started.

Overview

One bottle contains 50mL of product. It claims to be reef-friendly which I don't really know how to make sense of as of the writing of this post because I have not read much research about that. It also claims to be free of oxybenzone, octinoxate, parabens, triclosan, PABA, octocrylene and 4-methylbenzylidene. These ingredients are said to be causing irritation and contact dermatitis so it's good to know that those with sensitive skin can safely use this as well.

This has SPF 60 PA++++ and provides both UVA and UVB protection. Although there is no claim on the packaging regarding fragrance, I checked the ingredients list and it does not contain any added fragrance.

Application

The consistency looks pretty thick right out the bottle. I use that much on a daily basis which is at least one teaspoon (the correct minimum amount according to dermatologists).  Even if it looks thick, it actually is very easy to spread around the face and it does melt fast as you work with it. It's like a cream to watery consistency.

The initial problem I had with this is that my skin seemed to have had a difficult time absorbing it. I thought because it was watering down as I moved it around, it would be easily absorbed. However, it did take a little bit of work to be able to get to that almost invisible finish. Even until then, it kind of left a white layer but it did settled down and was visually undetectable after a few minutes.

This leaves the skin a little tacky but I don't think it is adding up to the hydration. I don't really mind if a sunscreen is not hydrating especially if it does not claim to do so. I just use moisturiser before sunscreen application if I feel like my skin needed the extra hydration for the day. As for the tackiness, I also don't have a problem with it because it's nothing powder cannot solve.

In conclusion...

I honestly really love this sunscreen. It is so much easier to work with than the Garnier one and my dry, sensitive skin had no problems with it at all. I tried flash photography with it and it does not seem to have a white cast even if I did use a full teaspoon on my face.

As for using it under face makeup, I did not find any problems with it balling up or flaking off as long as it is completely dry before adding another layer of primer or makeup.

This is a very cheap but high quality sunscreen that can easily be purchased locally. It is absolutely worth it.

If you're interested, you can try and check a Watsons store near you and hopefully you can get this on sale as well!
